It was with great pleasure that Brummel and I accepted the invitation from the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the Socialist Unity Party Dictatorship (under communist rule in East Germany from 1949 to 1989) to present at the 8th History Fair in Suhl, Germany, from the 29th to the 31st of January 2015.

The theme of the 8th History Fair was “25 years of German reunification”

The travelling photo-exhibit Within My Walls and Beyond and the community project Within Our Walls and Beyond was presented at a stand and with a presentation to the public.

It was an unforgettable part of my journey towards understanding my history, that of my parents' and my grandparents' - to learn, discover, discuss and contribute to a dialogue on reappraisal and reconciliation.
