Extension: Photo Exhibition "Within My Walls and Beyond" at Pavillon Bleu in Geneva

November 30, 3-7 pm, for the last time at Pavillon Bleu aux Grottes (Rue des Amis) behind the Cornavin train station in Geneva opens its doors for the last time to Within My Walls and Beyond, a solo exhibition by documentary photographer Undine Groeger.

With photographs, a film and other installations, Within My Walls and Beyond pays tribute to the lives of East Berliners before and after the Fall of the Berlin Wall, and the people of Transnistria who still live in a post-Soviet frozen conflict zone between Moldova and Ukraine.

It is a testimony of 3 generations showing their perspectives on the Berlin Wall from the point of view of a child, a parent, a grandmother and a teddy bear, Brummel.

"The world is on the brink of a new Cold War. Some are even saying that it’s already begun,” Gorbachev said at an event marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, close to the city’s iconic Brandenburg Gate. Gorbachev called for trust to be restored through dialogue."

"Paying tribute to the East Berliners who pushed past border guards to flood through the Wall on Nov. 9, 1989 and commemorated the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall," Obama said in a statement Friday that “as Russia’s actions against Ukraine remind us, we have more work to do to fully realize our shared vision of a Europe that is whole, free and at peace.”
